Wind Turbines — When can I get one?
Check this article out: Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines from CleanTechnica.
We could solve much of the energy crisis by looking into putting these on top of skyscrapers, in the middle of subdivisions, and in third-world countries to provide cheap power.
Why aren’t we? Why is this something we’re just considering rather than adopting?
We’ll buy the next iPhone that gives us faster internet, pay hundreds of dollars a month just to keep it connected. But we won’t get excited over buying these or investing in these companies?
What’s wrong with us?

I’ll admit… I want to buy the new iPhone but you’re right, we need to invest in more and more ways to generate renewable energy.
The thing I think hangs us up is the business of things in our country. If there’s a business for it, it’ll become available. If it’s marketable and will sell we seem to do it.
It’s not even about the technology anymore. We have the technology to run our cars on french fry grease but gas it was we’re used to and what the big businesses make available.
I think making an impact and starting movements like these will take a lot of hard work and grass roots efforts (like blogging about it). So keep up the good work and keep posts like these coming!

Thanks, Jaq, for the comment and encouragement. My wife and I are trying to become more aware of our wastefulness. We are even planning to build a house that is “green.”
But, it may be time for me to start putting my money where my mouth is — I need to look into how to support these initiatives with cold, hard cash.
I believe what Jesus said: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6:21 If I don’t start putting some money toward these things, then is my heart really in it?
